About My Clients

I provide therapy to adults, children, and teenagers who are suffering from overwhelming feelings of anxiety, disconnection, and sadness. My focus areas are in complex trauma and family systems, especially with immigrant and cross-cultural families. I believe that the distress you experience makes sense in the context of your early experiences, your family history, and the systems we live in.

My Background and Approach

I offer a warm, reflective, and collaborative space that is responsive to your specific needs. We will work on addressing your current concerns as well as the underlying structures and patterns that got you here in the first place. My approach draws from Western psychology and Eastern philosophy to integrate mindful inquiry with somatic awareness in the body. My intention is to be fully present so that you can balance feeling secure and taking risks in your process. As we build our relationship together, we will be curious about how the past shows up in the present. We will get to know your familiar patterns with respect and compassion: how they help you, how you relate to them, and how they might get in the way of what you want for yourself. We will cultivate space for your disavowed parts to come up for air, take shape, and receive care. Along the way, you'll also discover deep wells of resources and support you may come to trust.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we are all trying to move towards connection, health, and aliveness. Being a human in this world is hard. We are shaped by our early relationships, the systems we live in, and our collective histories. As we grow, parts of us become stifled, disavowed, and estranged in ways that may be unknown to us. We learn resilience and survival strategies in difficult situations that may not be sustainable for us now. Therapy can be a generative and playful space that is freeing from social norms and constructs. I use a social justice lens and carefully attend to issues of power, oppression, and privilege as they show up in our relationship. As you connect more with yourself, you may find moments of freedom to settle into new possibilities of knowing, relating, and being that honor your deepest desires and bring you a sense of ease.
