Hi and welcome to my page! I am a licensed professional counselor and trained energy healer. I look forward to hearing from you
Licensed Professional Counselor in Hoffman Estates, IL
Above all else, I feel the relationship formed in therapy to be the most healing agent for change. I offer my clients a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and curious atmosphere to explore themselves.
I am a firm believer in the power of mindfulness and meditative approaches to living to help us access deeper and more authentic parts of ourselves. Experiencing ourselves from this place helps us navigate life with a higher perspective, feeling more connected and open to deeper meaning in our relations
ACT involves utilizing mindfulness to understand that we are not our thoughts, therefore we do not have to suffer from our longstanding beliefs about ourselves and mental conditioning
Anxiety has with it a strong sense of feeling uprooted, as though you don’t have stable footing in your life. Most anxiety sufferers also sense a strong sense of unworthiness and not belonging. Treating anxiety includes rewriting our scripts around what we deserve and our connection with the world, as well our rights to feel safe to dream, create, and have fun in this life
Depression has a wide range of sources, including biological, and it serves as a coping skill for the pains of life. Most depression sufferers have experienced a large number of let downs and losses in their lives, and the depression helps them feel safe from ever getting their hopes dashed again. Treating depression includes developing our ability to care for ourselves when life gets challenging, which includes abandoning the inner critic and learning how to be kind to ourselves.
I’ve worked with a lot of men over the years help undo the harmful messages they’ve received about what it means to be a man in our society. The most troubling impact I’ve found is the effect it’s had on how we relate with ourselves as complex emotional creatures. The suppression of emotion can lead to a wide range of dysfunctional behaviors, not to mention persistent feelings of isolation, emptiness, and irritation.
