I have extensive experience working with clients on understanding how their thoughts often directly relate to feelings of anxiety and how to change them. We look at lifestyle issues and behaviors that also contribute to stress and anxiety. I use a whole-person approach that takes into account a person's history as well as any hormonal or medical explanations for what you are going through.

My 10+ years of working exclusively with mothers has propelled me to fully understand women's experiences in the context of our society. The demands and societal expectations women feel play an important role in my sessions, whether my clients come in with this awareness or whether she sees how this pressure plays a role after our work together has begun.

Aligned with my work treating anxiety, we use a whole-person approach to uncover any medical or hormonal factors, such a post-partum depression, e.g., that might be playing a role in depression. We also address the behaviors, self-limiting beliefs and patterns of thinking that keep a person feeling low. I utilize my training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy as well as Solution-Focused Therapy which both are proven to be very effective with depression.

I took an interest in the approach of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy with my very first clients in 2004 and have never stopped using this approach since that time. My clients want to leave sessions knowing how to help themselves and this is a cornerstone in how I work.

I am a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and have also held a private coaching business for moms for ten years. I received my coaching education in 2011 from iPEC (Institute on the Professional Education of Coaches).

I have over 15 years of experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe that CBT should be used with every client. Not only does it empower people to understand how they have the power to control their thoughts and feelings but these skills learned from this approach will benefit them for a lifetime.
