About My Clients
I provide creative and collaborative therapy for children, adolescents, and their families, as well as individuals. If you are going through a difficult transition, struggling to enjoy your life or relationships, or would like to process recent life experiences please reach out.
My Background and Approach
If you have spent time near the ocean, or any wild place really, you may have had the experience of returning again and again to the same place to find it utterly different each time. Therapy is like this. Together, we return again and again to experiences, emotions, and images, each time allowing for exploration of the different nuances, tones, and textures of your life. My clinical training was completed at the Family Service Agency, ​Carpinteria Children's Project, and Santa Barbara Unified School District. I work with an integrative combination of Jungian, Cognitive Behavior, Dialectic Behavior, and Somatic modalities. I move within Attachment Theory, Family Systems, Feminist, Social Justice, and Trauma-Informed perspectives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Humans are relational beings. I believe the therapeutic relationship creates space for the aspects of ourselves that we don't feel safe or allowed to express in the world or in other relationships. By creating an environment in therapy that allows and accepts these aspects of ourselves we can begin to integrate them in hopes of reducing the pain and suffering they are inflicting on our lives. While there are many tools and techniques one can learn to reduce suffering and increase more desirable states, it is the presence of a welcoming, non-judgmental, and supportive other that disrupts previous patterns of relating and aids in developing new ones.
