About My Clients
Clients come to me for help with working through anxiety, depression, big life transitions (college/post-college, parenthood, new job, big move, new relationship, etc.), internet and social media addiction, grief, improving communication, and increasing motivation. Some people want to make big decisions with more confidence, and some simply need to vent and get a neutral perspective to offer some clarity.
My Background and Approach
For the past six years, I have worked in outpatient settings with individuals struggling with mental health issues, trauma, and substance abuse disorders. I believe that therapy cannot be productive without a healthy therapeutic alliance. This relationship is integral to the work we will do together, and finding a good match is necessary for BOTH of us to do our best. I believe many of my former and current clients would describe me as humorous, kind, direct, and “real” - I won’t treat you like you’re a textbook, because you’re not! I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered modalities, and solution-focused therapy, as well as motivational interviewing.
