I love delving in to help you get a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. And let's be honest, the most important one is the relationship you have with yourself. Having support and understanding can help you move forward and feel validated in your experiences.
My Background and Approach
I want you to have all the tools you need to approach whatever life is throwing your way. My approach to therapy is meeting the person, you, where you are at. This looks different for different people. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)and Motivational Interviewing. CBT allows you to dig deeper into your underlying beliefs about yourself and how those beliefs dictate your current life. DBT gives you a specific set of tools for managing life including mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. Motivational Interviewing comes into play when you are feeling stuck, something is not working and you need a way to move forward. I work individually with adolescents and adults, couples, as well as family therapy and groups.
