About My Clients
The clients that I find to be the best fit with me are those who are motivated and ready to shift from talk therapy to accepting feeling states and body sensations during times of emotional activation. Clients that work with me will find that disconnecting from the stories and narratives associated with traumatic events and physical discomfort allows them to feel safe and present in their lives.
My Background and Approach
I have been practicing for 20 years and have focused my work on treating trauma, anxiety and supporting eating disorder recovery. I have been trained in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and have extensive experience implementing a Health at Every Size and body positive approach to treatment. I encouraged mindfulness and acceptance with gentle and safe supportive structure. I will work at a pace that feels comfortable and collaborative with you while also ensuring that you do not remain "stuck" in unhelpful patterns of processing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I live my life from a place of non judgment and acceptance, also incorporating this into my practice with all clients. It is important to me that I care for my body, mind and spirit in such way that allows me to be my healthiest self when I enter into sessions with my clients. I am an active volunteer with Rock Medicine, providing harm reduction services in my community.
