About My Clients
I provide individual, couple, and family therapy for adults who have experienced Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN). I also specialize in working with parents who want to break generational cycles by learning specific tools to prevent CEN from being passed on to their own kids.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist with 10 years of experience helping adults gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to overcome Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN). I operate from a psychodynamic/attachment based theoretical orientation, and I am very direct and skills oriented. I particularly enjoy helping my clients gain understanding of and connect to themselves, cope with and navigate their emotions effectively, and communicate and connect with others in more meaningful ways. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), IFS (Internal Family Systems), and also incorporate EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), mindfulness and somatic techniques to help people heal, make sustainable change, and move forward in their life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Simply put, CEN is about what you didn't sufficiently receive/learn in childhood, and a lot of this centers on lack of healthy emotional development. This lack of education, modeling and coaching can have a significant and devastating impact on how we see and connect with ourselves, show up in relationships, and navigate our world. I believe it is possible to both learn healthy emotional development skills at any age, and start engaging in your life with intention and authenticity without holding back.
