About My Clients
While change and growth are challenging, my goal is to make therapy an enjoyable and productive endeavor. My strengths as a therapist lie in the close relationships I form with clients, based on trust and safety. I work particularly well with individuals struggling with recent, complex or developmental trauma, BPD, mood and anxiety issues, attachment injuries, grief, identity formation, challenging family dynamics, and other relational issues.
My Background and Approach
Having spent my career thus far in an array of settings, I nurture a holistic view of each individual and support clear evolutions toward specific goals. I utilize trauma therapies such as Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic experiencing techniques and teach DBT skills with a special emphasis on mindfulness. My interventions are trauma-informed, client-centered, and mind-body-spirit-oriented.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that social justice should be an integral aspect of mental health work. I have worked since age 15 in settings wherein I've had the opportunities to create community programs, volunteer with at-risk youth on topics such as body acceptance, sexual assertiveness, self-care, and personal empowerment. I am energized by and feel honored to connect with and walk beside a diverse clientele. As a member of the community myself, I am committed to LGBT+ rights and challenges, and work well with those seeking greater insight into identity formation.
