About My Clients

Do you ever feel like it's just one problem after the next? You can barely manage your daily obligations let alone find time for "self-care." My clients are navigating busy and complex lives, dealing with the challenges of high school, college, early career or family life. I work with clients managing symptoms of depression, anxiety and trauma in addition to daily life stressors. In therapy we look at the big picture and find tools that will foster overall well-being.

My Background and Approach

I began my mental health journey back in high school, when I saw nervous friends struggling with depression, anxiety and addiction. I went to college wanting to be a medical doctor but was allured by the idea of being a therapist and helping teens/young adults. After graduating from college I got a job at a residential treatment center for teens with legal/substance use issues. I returned to school and dedicated my studies and clinical work to this population working in various settings (i.e. group homes, residential facilities, foster care placements, community mental health centers for children/teens/families, and juvenile detention). I love working collaboratively with this population, giving them a say in their treatment. I am a behavioral therapist, meaning I will talk to you about how to change your behaviors to meet your goals and will ask you to try some "skills." I am also interested in just talking to my clients and being real with them.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in the power of human connection, empathy and understanding. I bring my full self into the therapy room and invite my clients to do the same, offering what I hope to be a safe and welcoming space. I do not shy away from difficult or sensitive topics (i.e., race, politics, LGBTQ concerns, sex). If you want to talk about it, I want to hear about it! I am extremely passionate about seeing more mental health discussion and training in schools and dedicate my "off therapy" hours to volunteering at schools and raising money for mental health programs.

I have experience with the following
  • Agnosticism
  • Christianity
  • Hinduism
  • Islam
