Attachment style can impact how we relate to others and define our interpersonal relationships. Working from attachment theory, I help clients understand their own attachment style, how it developed, and how they can earn secure attachment within themselves to improve relationships and relational satisfaction.

I work with complex dissociative disorders, including other-specified dissociative disorder, DID, and depersonalization/derealization to help clients heal from trauma that may have fragmented their memories or identities in order to cope. I have had advanced training in modalities to help clients slowly piece their lives back together and be present to the world at their own pace - learning to separate the past from the present.

I am certified in EMDR, an evidence-based approach to long-term healing from PTSD and its symptoms. Trauma can have a wide-ranging definition and EMDR can help clients heal from its effects. EMDR is also usual in helping with many other life struggles and I integrate it into almost all areas of my practice.

EMDR therapy has been used with a wide variety of client presentations and is currently one of the most researched methods of contemporary psychotherapy. It has been shown empirically to be effective in the treatment of PTSD. Trauma is often stored in the brain without a time stamp causing a traumatic event to be experienced as thought it is re-occurring. EMDR reorganizes how traumatic memories are stored so the human system can know and feel that the event is actually in the past.
