About My Clients
I work with individuals dealing with the inevitable challenges that being a human brings. Whether you are struggling in relationships, wanting to understand more about how your past affects how you show up in your life today, and/or dealing with grief, anxiety, depression, lack of motivation, or addictions, I can help. I’m passionate about helping people untangle the patterns that keep them stuck and discover new ways to heal, grow, and thrive.
My Background and Approach
Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years as a teacher, which gave me a deep understanding of how relationships, growth, and learning intersect. Later, I worked in community mental health for two years, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds with complex challenges. These experiences have shaped my compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy. I use an attachment-based, psychodynamic approach, which means we’ll explore how your past relationships and experiences shape your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I also integrate somatic therapy to help you connect with your body’s signals and build a greater sense of safety and balance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a deeply feeling, sensitive person with a logically-oriented mind. I have the capacity to hold lots of feelings and relationships, both personal and professional, and have done a lot of my own work in therapy. I definitely understand what it feels like to be a client… vulnerable, scary, proud, seen, held, challenged… sometimes in one session it seems! I am energized by the dynamics of human relationships- both the complexities of the inner workings and the simplicity of what we are all really searching for. My lived experience and my own therapeutic journey are perhaps the greatest trainings of all that I pull from as a therapist. In one way or another I can relate to many stories that clients bring in. I also do exist outside of the therapy world! I have my own complicated human relationships and messy life that I love.
