About My Clients
Isolation and heightened anxiety are common for those living in marginalized identities. Do you often feel like you are on the outside looking in? Like you’re invisible? You deserve to feel seen and heard, and you deserve to live a more fulfilling life. Strongly rooted in an anti-oppression, anti-racist lens, I understand the impacts of systemic trauma and stigma on our individual experience. I can help you step into a more empowered and liberated life experience.
My Background and Approach
Our first priority is to understand your current needs and how I can best support you. I work from an existential, person-centered, and strength-based framework. I believe we heal when we are in connection with others and in connection with our authentic selves. It can be easy to think that you need to prove yourself and your worth when faced with multiple barriers in life, but that constant proving becomes exhausting over time. I bring with me 16 years of working in social services, 6 of those years being spent counseling in community mental health, both in agency and medical settings. In addition, my own HIV diagnosis has inspired a long history of involvement with the HIV community where I’ve spent many years working with and supporting others living with HIV. Furthermore, I am in a caregiving role - I know the toll it can take on your overall well-being and sense of identity. Together we will reduce feelings of shame and guilt and increase self-esteem.
