My Background and Approach
I have personally experienced anxiety, depression, and trauma in my lifetime, which fostered my deep appreciation for becoming a therapist to help others would are struggling with the challenges of being human. I have found the healing power of creating artwork combined with therapy. As a trained art therapist I would love to guide you in the process of art making to promote your own personal healing. You do not need ANY art experience to gain insight and awareness into your experience through creative methods. I understand that this can feel intimidating but I would like to offer the opportunity for you to practice creative healing experientials in a safe space.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I graduated from Antioch University Seattle during my time there I studied Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Art Therapy. I worked in a community mental health setting for one year as part of my internship experience. Post-graduation, I facilitated group therapy sessions in an inpatient setting for patients experiencing acute psychosis and mood disorders. I have experience working with teens, adults, and older adults as well as leading virtual art-therapy groups. I like to practice form a strength-based and person centered approach, I like to show up as my authentic self in session and I would encourage you to do the same.
