About My Clients

Maybe you’re sick of never feeling “good enough,” no matter what you do. Maybe you’re sick of going to therapists who don’t make space for all of who you are. What you want isn’t outrageous: A life that feels mostly fulfilling, relationships that feel real and nourishing...maybe even knowing who you are or what you want. As a therapist, I love meeting people who want these things for themselves. I especially love supporting artists, creatives, and queer, trans, and neurodivergent folk.

My Background and Approach

I believe it’s important for me as a therapist to show up as my full self in my work. After all, my lived and living experiences drew me to this work and inform my perspective. I’m not interested in being a “fixer” — even though our work together might involve learning new skills, I never want to encourage the idea that you or your experiences are problems to be fixed. I’m much more interested in expanding your already-existing internal resources to support your actions, big and small, in the wider world. I approach the therapist role as less of an “expert” and more of a capable emotional doula, accompanying you in your process of growth. I believe that, under the right circumstances, all people have within them the ability to heal and be well. With a warm smile and a ready laugh, I will be a mirror for the parts of you that are already resilient, healthy, and determined to thrive.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Some theories & approaches that guide my work: -Intersectional feminist values (including ongoing personal praxis in anticapitalist, abolitionist, and decolonial frameworks) -Liberation psychology -Embodied & somatic approaches to healing, including expressive therapies, ancestor work and inner child work -Polyvagal theory & the neurobiology of trauma -My own lifelong personal experience studying & engaging with the creative process -Internal Family Systems (IFS) “Parts Work” and related frameworks -The Adult Children of Alcoholics & Dysfunctional Families (ACOA) tradition -Relational therapy -Fat-Positive and Body Liberation values -Sex-Positive, Kink-Positive, Polyam-Positive, and Pro-Sex Worker values
