Feeling tense all the time? Find yourself worrying about small things, fearing for what is ahead or feeling like you are overreacting to everything? These can be signs of anxiety and can prevent you from taking part in activities that bring you joy or even meeting your basic daily needs. I can help you build skills to reduce stress, stop intrusive thoughts, reduce anxiety, and increase sense of wellbeing.
Depression can impact every part of our lives and can feel hopeless. But it is never hopeless, there are proven ways to improve mood, reduce frequency and intensity of depressive episodes and find peace. Request a free phone consultation to see if the therapy I offer would be a good for you.
I offer Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy as part of individual therapy. Insight meditation and mindfulness skills are evidence based and can help significantly reduce symptoms related to stress, depression and anxiety, particularly in preventing and reducing severity of recurrent depressive episodes. This modality does require a significant commitment to treatment, as daily homework and meditative exercises are part of treatment.
I provide individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address depression, anxiety, substance abuse and other issues that may contribute to and be a result of maladaptive behaviors. Humans are excellent at finding ways to protect themselves through thinking patterns and behaviors. When those thoughts and behaviors are no longer helpful, CBT skills can help you create new patterns to improve your mood, reduce stress and anxiety and improve your overall outlook.
