About My Clients

If you are thinking about engaging in therapy, I appreciate your courage on this journey. Life can be challenging and overwhelming at times; especially now. Therapy can help us find direction, experience personal growth, and increase our tools and strategies for coping. One of the most important aspects of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between the client and the therapist. This relationship is founded on trust, understanding, acceptance, and authenticity.

My Background and Approach

My work experience includes more than 20 years as a therapist and counselor educator. My clinical experience has focused on anxiety, self-esteem, parenting issues, relationship issues, crisis intervention, trauma (including cultural and historical trauma), and life transitions, with particular attention to LGBTQ+ and Deaf Culture related concerns. I use an integrative, culturally sensitive approach to therapy. I'm sure you're ready to get some relief and experience healing. You're ready to work toward your goals. My experience combined with my compassion and care enable me to highlight the strengths you have and how they can help you on your journey. Together we can take on the hard things so that you can feel joyful and free again.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am non-binary myself and trans affirming and have access to regular trainings and consultation regarding gender identity related care in our group practice. I have extensive experience working with Deaf community and am familiar with Deaf culture. I’m bilingual in English and American Sign Language and one of my joys is assisting Deaf and hard of hearing individuals with life transitions, trauma recovery, and relationship challenges. Another area of interest is in assisting 2SLGBTQ+ people who want to improve their relationships. Whether you want support in parenting, building friendships, improving romantic partnerships, or finding connection with other elders, I’m here to provide feedback, processing of relationship patterns or styles, and encouragement. I'm also here to assist white individuals who are striving to become more actively anti-racist and want therapy to be a place to be openly vulnerable and accountable in this work.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
