About My Clients
I work with adults doing online individual therapy. I enjoy helping people work through past trauma, but also have experience with a variety of other challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. I have extensive training in working with those who have experienced childhood trauma, abuse, and neglect, as well as training in working with adults who have experienced single incident traumatic events.
My Background and Approach
I have a Master's Degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from William Paterson University of NJ (2004) and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in NJ. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention EX/RP, a type of exposure therapy for OCD. I also have experience working with a myriad of other challenges, including depression, anxiety, and general mental health concerns. I use a strength-based, solution-focused approach to help you build upon what is going well and to take steps to improve things that aren't going as well as you’d like. No two people are the same, so I tailor treatment to each specific person in order to help you achieve your specific goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone should be treated fairly and with respect. I believe in embracing differences and that we can all learn from one another. I enjoy working with a diverse client population and learning how each person's cultural beliefs influence them personally. I am an animal lover and social justice warrior.
