About My Clients
My name is Kevin Valencia, I was born and raised in Southern California, I am a Army veteran having proudly served 6 years of honorable service and having deployed once. Service to Country easily transferred to Service to Others. That is why I thoroughly enjoy working as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I strongly believe that everyone has their own, individual uniqueness which should be respected and used to guide therapy for client safety and success.
My Background and Approach
I have been a LMFT since 2021, working for Telecare North in Anaheim (outpatient mental health clinic) as Clinical Director, Be Well in Orange (crisis van program) as City Supervisor, and Private Practice as an LMFT. Recently, I will begin at Palo Alto University as an adjunct faculty member. I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy from University of Phoenix. My specialties include: PTSD and trauma-related, severe and persistent mental illnesses, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, and stress. I use an eclectic approach to make sure that treatment is catered to serve my client's specific needs. I incorporate evidenced based approaches of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy(SFT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am a trained provider for CPT for PTSD.
