About My Clients

Are you struggling with a life transition? Or finding that you just don't get the same joy out of life that you once did? Often times this is when my clients reach out for help. The way they have been doing things just doesn't seem to be working any more. Together we can sort out the underlying issues and make a plan to resolve them.

My Background and Approach

I believe that each of my clients have unique needs, strengths and challenges so I consider my therapeutic approach integrative, which will include addressing their conscious mind (or thoughts), their unconscious mind (or the stories that they tell themselves) and their behaviors or actions. By looking at each of these areas of one's life I help my clients heal their pain and move towards their dreams. In terms of my education, I went to CSUN for my BA and Azuza Pacific University for my Master's Degree. I am certified in the treatment of Trauma, Eating Disorders, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and Nero-Linguistics Programming. I am also experienced in using hypnosis (and for that matter I love hypnosis and find it very helpful). I am also experienced in couples therapy and use Gottman's methods and Imago Therapy methods.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am supportive of other's personal beliefs and values. and do not judge or impose my values upon them. I see myself as compassionate and open minded. And, although I consider myself liberal, I have friends, family and client who are conservative. I believe this is a personal choice and neither the liberal minded people or the conservatives, have a lock on what is 'right.' We each get to live our own truths and I respect other's views. As a therapist, I work with my clients on exploring and resolving their issue within their value system. I do consider myself a feminist but work with couples and clients who are more traditional and can also respect their choices.
