About My Clients
I am currently providing tele-therapy services to residents of California and Texas. I am passionate about helping youth 16+ learn to navigate life's many thresholds and transitions. Working with me could include an affirming identity exploration, increasing nature connection, exploring climate grief, mapping your unique response to ecological events or triggers around you to increase self-understanding, and shining light on your relationship with various elements of your environment.
My Background and Approach
I have provided psychotherapy for over 7 years to youth and their families seeking health and healing within a complex set of challenges. My Healing-Centered approach is primarily rooted in Ecology, Nature Connection, Family Systems and CBT/DBT. I believe that Growth and Change in any personal domain -work, family, social, physical health, mental health, spiritual health- is an interconnected and holistic act. Ecosystems and Ecotherapy are foundational in our work to better understand your relationships and responses to the environment around you. Weaved through my approach is a reflection on growth we see in the natural world as reflective of our own growth processes. This practice provides a concentric and holistic approach that includes mapping our socio-cultural relationships to ourselves, including experiences of awe, oppression, grief, and how we relate to the systems we live within. I also have formal training in The Work That Reconnects and Trauma Informed Systems Theory.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a White Queer Femme (She/Krista/Her) and believe deeply that our socio-cultural location (your unique-to-you identity) informs the way we move through, intersect, experience, and relate to the world. I believe we have the opportunity to compassionately diverge from societal stories about us and others. I support a humanized "bottom-up approach" for you to bloom in the systems you are rooted in. I believe that therapy can be a first-step in directly challenging a hierarchal "top-down" society by increasing self-understanding, mindfulness, and imagining different systems that promote and align justice for all living beings. I am passionate about providing therapy access to folks in Movement Work such as climate and environmental justice, racial justice, and LGBTQ+-justice.
