I also love using ACT or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which is a newer type of CBT. ACT focuses on behavior change rather than symptom reduction, and helps people live in line with their passions and values. There is a big focus on accepting your reality, including negative thoughts and feelings, and we use mindfulness strategies to learn to be more present with whatever is arising. ACT shows excellent results as well with mood and anxiety disorders.

I have worked for many years in acute medical settings treating acute stress and trauma-related conditions such as Burns, Trauma, and NICU hospital units. I have experience treating health care providers, first responders, and military. I also specialize in the treatment of birth trauma.
