About My Clients

My Background and Approach
Much of my inspiration comes from my experience as a wilderness therapist and guide for adolescents in treatment. I believe that many symptoms of mental health issues arise from a disconnection. Whether that be in our relationship with our own bodies or with the people in our lives. Together we will explore the impacts of shame- the driver of disconnection. We will identify underlying trauma impacting your anxiety, depression, or other behavioral issues. I am a trained Brainspotting therapist, a focused treatment on relieving the body of unresolved emotional pain and/or traumas. You will gain an understanding of your nervous system and how it effects your mind and body. You will learn evidence based tools for emotional regulation, which means you'll be breathing easier and feeling more in control of your own emotions again.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As human beings, we each deeply desire and deserve a sense of belonging - that is to be loved, to be understood, and to be accepted. I believe that connection and relationship are at the core of all healing. I was trained with a Social Systems lens, so in both my practice and personal life I believe it is important for us to look at each facet of our identities (gender, sex, religion, race, culture, class, etc) and how these identities interact with our shame, trauma, and sense of belonging.
