About My Clients
Are you feeling sad but you're too ashamed or embarrassed to tell anyone? Do you put on a smile when all you want to do is cry? I know exactly what you're feeling: overwhelmed, pressured, anxious, afraid of being judged that you "don't have your shit together". Upholding an unrealistic expectation of self and societal pressure of "keeping it all together" is exhausting! and I don't want you to continue this cycle... I hear you, I see you!
My Background and Approach
My style is empathetic, warm, intuitive, and non-judgmental. I like to incorporate music, art, and walk & talk therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to determine the best approach and feels the strength of the therapeutic relationship is central to the success of therapy. I've spent 10+ years in the field serving all forms of trauma: Foster care, Victims of crime, Gang prevention programs, Intimate Partner Violence, CSEC population. Every experience has taught me about the power of survival... and while on survival mode your body is keeping score. I've helped people build confidence and feel empowered to start living for themselves when they wanted more than just to survive. I do this by helping them identify distorted thinking patterns, recognize when their body is telling them when it's time to rest and much more. But the most important approach is giving people permission to heal!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an active, loving, supportive member of the LGBTQ+ community. I believe in (and embrace) experimentation: the freedom to test things out and see how they fit, to explore the various facets of yourself, and to allow for complexities, contradictions, and messiness. I enjoy the outdoors, exploring new cultures through food and music. While I am certainly not versed in ALL cultures, I am incredibly respectful of others’ beliefs, customs, and traditions. Lastly, androids will always be my first love!
