My Background and Approach

Specializes in sexual trauma and the associated symptoms resulting from violence. As a clinician and human, Krystal offers a warm, grounding, engaged, and compassionate presence. Other specialties: PTSD, complex trauma (c-PTSD), developmental and childhood trauma or abuse, dissociation, depression, anxiety. She uses a blend of the following approaches: trauma-informed, neurobiology (polyvagal theory), mindfulness, somatic, sensorimotor psychotherapy, psychodynamic, attachment theory. Krystal uses an integrative approach based on your history, needs, strengths, and response. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) in California, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level I certification.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

You have the ability to not only survive trauma, but heal and transform from the legacy of trauma. Krystal holds and embodies the belief that you are here right now because you have survived and formed miraculous ways of coping. What helped you before might not be as helpful now. It is possible to recover and come home to yourself. As a first-generation Asian-American, she also understands shared experience of alienation, family pressure, secrecy, shame, and violence.
