About My Clients

Have you been through a lot, yet struggle to cope and thrive? You want to reclaim your power and spirit, and heal from the past rather than relive it. You feel overwhelmed, disconnected, and like life has completely derailed. Trauma can profoundly change all aspects of life, altering your worldview, nervous system, ability to trust yourself or others. Whether you are here because of a single or multiple event(s), I am here to help support you.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed therapist (LMFT and LPCC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional in California. I offer a warm, grounding, engaged, and compassionate presence. Specialties and experience: sexual abuse and assault, PTSD, anxiety, dissociation, depression, attachment trauma/wounds, childhood and developmental abuse and trauma. I use a blend of the following approaches: trauma-informed, neurobiological framework (polyvagal theory), mindfulness, somatic (body-mind), sensorimotor psychotherapy, psychodynamic, attachment theory, and CBT. My framework is trauma- and neurobiologically-informed: I see how past traumatic events impact current facets of life - your relationships, thought process, body/nervous system, wold view, ability to trust yourself or others. I use an integrative approach based on your history, needs, strengths, and response. Additional training: currently in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level I.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we have the ability to heal and transform from whatever happened to us, the narratives we've adopted, and the inevitable struggles of life. Most of us have the desire to grow, and, with support, inspiration, and tools, we can achieve our innate potential. As a first-generation Asian-American, I know what it feels like to have high expectations and pressure placed upon oneself. I understand the overpowering feelings of pain and suffering. I also understand that healing is possible - the journey unique to the individual. I am dedicated to self-improvement and expanding insight, including recognizing my privilege as a cis-gender, able-bodied female. I believe that you can recover, and that your body did the best it could to survive whatever hardship or trauma it faced at that time.
