Using an eclectic approach means that, based on your specific experiences and needs, I will use a range of therapeutic theories and methods to assist you in reaching your goals. I use various evidence-based techniques that are customized to your unique situation. Eclectic therapy is flexible, and allows me to offer different modalities to fit an individual's changing needs or problems.

Using mindfulness (incl. meditation, somatic, and sensorimotor psychotherapy techniques), I can help you improve your relationship to your body and internal world, tolerate sensations, and strengthen self-awareness - i.e. internal dialogues, thoughts, images, sensations, feelings. Practicing listening to your body and focusing on the now can help relieve tension, work through psychological and physiological discomfort, and heal trauma.

Being a trauma-informed therapist, I understand the overwhelming effects and aftermath of trauma. Whether trauma happened once or over a lifetime, the legacy left is profound and life-changing. I will help you reach a state of stability, control, and safety so that you can function and reclaim your life back, with the opportunity to process and resolve trauma(s). Trauma therapy aims to cultivate and realize your self-empowerment, control, and confidence within your life.

I have extensive experience working with survivors of sexual abuse, assault, and trauma - whether this occurred during childhood, adolescence, or adulthood, and was a one-time or ongoing assault. I have helped children and young adults disclose sexual abuse to family members, survivors of all ages address and process past sexual trauma(s), and clients work through recent/current sexual abuse.

Whether the abuse happened long ago, recently, once, or was ongoing, please know that it is possible to heal and reclaim your power. With comprehensive experience helping survivors of sexual abuse and assault, I am here to help you navigate and manage the painful emotions, overpowering memories and thoughts, and persistent experience of being on edge. My experience includes supporting children, teens, and adults process and cope with sexual abuse, as well as helping family members respond.

Our brain is wired to survive, and when traumatic or intensely stressful events occur, our body sometimes struggles with differentiating what's a real threat. The aftermath of trauma can leave oneself feeling powerless, on guard, anxious, and wondering if life could ever be fulfilling or peaceful. With substantial experience helping clients who have experienced traumatic events, whether single- or multiple-incident(s), I am here to help you address and resolve past trauma(s).

The teen years are notoriously tough! There are big changes in friendships, development, parent-child roles, and identity. With over 10 years of experience working with adolescents in various roles/settings, I love serving this population. I have provided trauma therapy to incarcerated youth and worked in school and community clinic settings. Specialized experience in: teen anxiety, self-esteem, identity, family/divorce issues, childhood abuse (including sexual abuse/assault), racial injustice.

This somatic (body and mind) approach brings the wisdom of your body into the therapeutic process of addressing, accessing, processing, transforming, and resolving trauma. This modality explores the present-moment sensations and experiences (mindfulness) of the body to help heal trauma.

Dissociation exists on a spectrum, and is often a survival strategy implemented to deal with significant trauma, pain, and distress. In helping survivors with dissociative symptoms and experiences, I utilize a trauma-informed lens including structural dissociation model, sensorimotor psychotherapy (body-oriented), and mindfulness.
