About My Clients
My ideal client is one who struggles with achieving the goals they want to accomplish. One who has experienced trauma in the past and isn't sure how to move forward. One who has excessively negative thoughts about themselves or the world, and wants to improve how they see life. A client who has felt like they are drowning in life, in sadness, in anxiety, in fear, and wants to identify strategies to come back afloat.
My Background and Approach
I employ both cognitive and emotion regulation strategies to help my clientele move forward in their life and to address problems that are presented. I am certified in Trauma-informed care, Motivational Interviewing, Solution- Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy. I am also well versed in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Clients can expect to receive solution-focused exploration of issues, a better understanding of the cause of challenges, and concise and efficient coping skills to help move forward and improve their quality of life. This includes more effective communication, improved thinking patterns, coping skills to manage symptoms, processed trauma and healthy life habits.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can achieve happiness, despite the barriers created by the socioeconomic and political climate we live in. I am a spiritual person who understands that there are multiple paths that one can take to GOD and that none are "right" or "wrong." I stand firm with the concepts of transparent communication, honesty and compassion. I believe that all love is real and actively support members of the LGBTQ+ community. I am an firm advocate in BLM and understand the impact of systemic racism on the lives of individuals, and my own.
