About My Clients
I celebrate and work with adults (18+) of all identities and backgrounds. My specialty is working with adults that identify with communities of color, multicultural identities, and second or third generation adult children of immigrants. I am passionate about working with adults who might be feeling stuck or stagnant, finding themselves repeating old patterns, and just wanting to do things differently. I help people in finding a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.
My Background and Approach
As a second-generation Asian American born to Southeast Asian refugee parents, I understand the feelings of wanting to develop cultural identity and the overwhelming need to figure out your true self. I have experienced the stressors related to living and navigating the complexity of family expectations, culture, and dominant society. I understand the impact of marginalization and systematic oppression. Most importantly, I understand the benefits of finding a non-judgemental space where you can truly honor who you really are, to be seen and heard. A space to sort through demands and stressors of everyday life, relationships, and cultural identity/BIPOC-specific challenges. As a POC therapist, I can offer this space to you. I can help with issues around life transitions, stress management, self-esteem, identity, depression, and anxiety. My counseling style has been described as: warm, supportive, compassionate, relational, liberating, gentle and direct.
