My Background and Approach
I use therapeutic skills learned and practiced over the past 15 years to support you in becoming your healthiest self. I have experience in the schools, intensive outpatient programs, and as a women's health specialist. My approach is eclectic and may include mindfulness components of DBT, CBT challenging negative thoughts or behaviors, EMDR for trauma, solution focused therapy & interpersonal therapy. I do my best to take a nonjudgmental approach and use humor in therapy to support you through your journey. Therapy can feel challenging at times, but should be a positive and safe space for you to address what you are going through or have experienced in your past. I believe you know yourself best, and have the ability to improve with just a little support to build coping skills and resiliency.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the strength of individuals and their ability to get the help they need to improve. The saying "it takes a village to raise a child" resonates with me and I would shift that to "sometimes it takes a village to improve our lives". I have experienced religious and emotional trauma and my journey to overcoming those maladaptive beliefs has been supported by my "village" and therapist. I believe in the ability for people to grow and learn through difficult experiences. I am an avid animal lover, postpartum yoga instructor, and enjoy music & movies with my family in my down time.
