About My Clients

I have significant experience working with those who are embarking on life transitions. Specifically, I care greatly about supporting those who are emerging into adulthood and find themselves curious and uncertain about who they are and where they belong. You may be someone who is navigating your college years, parting ways with college and beginning a new life, attempting to establish yourself as a graduate student, or contemplating beginning or ending relationships.

My Background and Approach

As a therapist primarily practicing psychodynamic therapy, I believe foremost that our best work together can be accomplished by creating and sustaining a unique space where you can feel safe, nurtured, validated, and understood. This will be a space where you can be who you need and want to be. Choosing to prioritize yourself can feel very unfamiliar and scary. It can also feel so empowering. It will be my intention to be curious and supportive, and you will be encouraged to share your thoughts and feelings openly, confident that I will neither judge nor reject you. By fostering trust, respectfully challenging you, and encouraging vulnerability, I hope to help you understand yourself and your relationships in more sophisticated and nuanced ways. We can work together to develop an enhanced understanding of your needs and learn ways to pursue them, while also helping you realize your innate abilities and strengths.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Therapy can be really difficult. It can feel messy and uncomfortable. Perhaps part of what makes it feel this way is the impression many of us hold that we should already understand all there is to know about ourselves, or, at a minimum, know which questions to ask, before starting therapy. This is not at all required. Actually, the opposite is true. Once we begin to explore together, you may be surprised by how much you are able to learn about yourself. That knowledge may be accompanied by strong emotions. Throughout, I commit to you my empathy and honesty. We'll laugh together, and cry together. We’ll navigate the complex pieces of the work together. I'll be there with you every step of the way.
