As a therapist, I partner with you to help you become more self-aware, strengthen and empower your mindset, learn new problem-solving and/or copings skills. In therapy, we will discuss what factors and experiences have shaped you and get a better understanding of your struggles and learn how to cope and manage them. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and I'm EMDR trained. CBT explores relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help in discovering dysfunctional thought patterns leading to negative behaviors and beliefs. EMDR has been proven to help people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of painful and traumatic life experiences. It is also has been helpful for individuals to help treat anxiety and depression. I will also use other approaches/techniques to best suit your needs like mindfulness, self-compassion, shame resiliency, stress management, and mood management.
