About My Clients

Areas of specialization include disordered eating from restrictive patterns to overeating. I have a passion for helping survivors of abuse and domestic violence. I also work with a range of presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. I am also passionate about working with people of all sexual orientations, self-identification or lifestyles. It is my belief that it is our differences and unique perspectives that can bring the greatest healing.

My Background and Approach

Regardless of approach, the therapeutic relationship we build together is the most important component for successful outcomes. Connection is key! We will explore your experiences from your perspective in a non-judgmental and compassionate way, then find recognized and innovative therapies that best fit your needs. I have training in evidence-based techniques that incorporate specific tools, strategies and goals, including psychodynamic, interpersonal, CBT, attachment-based and Mindfulness approaches. I also work to raise awareness of ways in which your body may hold distressing experiences in unspoken ways. Some of my clients enjoy experience-based therapeutic approaches - like those in the art therapy group I’ve led for over 10 years. And if you just need someone to talk to, and process things with, I believe one of the most important experiences for a person is just to be heard and validated. Let’s look at the range of tools available to us and then help you find your unique path.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am passionate about working with and understanding people from all walks of life. I find joy in learning about different cultures and healing practices. Working from a perspective that we are all interconnected is something that resonates strongly while understanding my client's view. I find that being able to honor and incorporate different beliefs and traditions can be very healing. I try to be attuned to the way client's bodies hold their stories and work with those experiences. Words are not always enough in therapy so being able to connect and shift the way in which our bodies hold experiences can be deeply healing. I am certified in reiki, love connecting with animals, and am honored to be connected to indigenous people in the area where I reside. I want to help bring voice to marginalized communities and have worked to help support LGBTQIA2S communities. I am still learning and growing often from those with whom I work. It is truly an honor to be a part of another's journey.
