About My Clients

Life's transitions such as marriage, lost relationships, and new parenthood all challenge us in ways that require us to pause and lean into our experience of sadness and grief. I will provide a safe place for you to express your emotions while also confronting habitual avoidance and integrating new ways of receiving and giving in to our emotional experience. My goal is to empower you to feel deeply and let go of negative beliefs holding you back from living the life you truly deserve.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a board-certified Dance/Movement Therapist. This dual background allows me to create a powerful blend of psychotherapy and creative arts that allows for healing both the mind and body. I am committed to providing compassionate, strength-based counseling through reflective conversation, mindfulness-based techniques, and creativity to integrate mind and body. Children and teens who may struggle with putting their feelings into words during traditional talk therapy may find using art, movement and music a supportive means to express their thoughts, fears and hopes. Young adults with perfectionistic standards will not flourish under harsh conditions one sets for oneself and need freedom to explore, push boundaries and make mistakes in order to truly shine more brightly. I use a compassionate approach to guide you towards trying new ways of being that may feel uncomfortable in order to break free from your fear of failure.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I spent several years working with children and adults with trauma, eating disorders and anxiety who have tried traditional talk therapy and are looking for lasting change by utilizing the greatest tool, the body itself. I completed my master’s level training at Drexel University in which I worked with adolescents and young children struggling with eating disorders, feeding disorders and psychiatric illness. I then spent several years working with at-risk youth in residential settings who were coping with family issues, trauma, eating disorders, developmental delays and psychiatric illnesses. Most recently I worked with women of all ages at the Renfrew Center, the premier center for eating disorder treatment in this country. In all of my years of experience, I remain consistent in my belief that growth happens through vulnerability, supportive relationship, and leaning into discomfort
