About My Clients
Every person’s behavior is multi-faceted and comes from a variety of sources — it is our unique stories, histories and experiences all mixed together. This combination colors what we learn, the way we learn, and how we grow. I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and children and families, to support understanding of where behaviors come from and how these behaviors impact relationships, with the goal of supporting greater connection and sustainable change.
My Background and Approach
I’ve had the privilege to work in the Bay Area in social service programs for the last decade and have provided direct services to individuals, couples, children and families for over a decade. I have extensive experience working with traumatized and marginalized communities and specialize in family systems and attachment. My therapy style is warm, interactive and engaged. I use an integrative approach to treatment, combining a number of modalities which include Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, Mindfulness, Play & Expressive Art Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. My intention is to support curiosity, connection and lasting change with our work together. I am currently working online only with California residents.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist of color, my practice is grounded in continually assessing issues of race, culture and intersectionality, and I actively work to be anti-racist and culturally sensitive. I am passionate about working with individuals and families in reflecting on the ways that power, privilege and systems of oppression impact the way we move through the world. I believe that all healing occurs within the context of safe and predictable relationships and community, and everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. On a personal note, I trust in the power of humor, a good cup of coffee, and cat cuddles. If you'd like to learn more about what I do, I invite you to reach out.
