About My Clients
Do you have a child or teen that's displaying difficult behaviors or moods at school/home? Have they experienced some adverse event such as abuse, trauma, or loss of a loved one? A loss of interest in things they once enjoyed? Are they lacking in friendship with same-aged peers? I specialize in working with children and adolescents who need support to work through symptoms that stem from previous hardships, improve communication and emotional regulation, & promote optimal mental health.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Social Worker who utilizes a person-centered, non-judgmental approach to therapy. While I use a variety of modalities to fit the needs of individual clients, I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Exposure Response Therapy (ERP) and Play Therapy to guide clients in sessions. My background includes working in Chicago public and charter schools as a Paraprofessional and Social Worker.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. Therapy has greatly benefitted my life in processing through grief and trauma, and I am honored to walk with you as you do the same. I believe that Black Lives Matter, Love is Love, and that Abolition is the future. I believe that it is vital to keep an open mind, admit when I am wrong or don't know something, and continue to be a life-long learner. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, and playing with my dog, Mochi!
