About My Clients
This is a space for everyone. I have found through my experience that when we feel safe and empowered we show up authentically in our relationships, ask for what we need, and set healthy boundaries. I work with adults seeking confidence and compassion for self and others. I value helping people utilize the strengths they have internally to step into living a healthy and balanced life.
My Background and Approach
I utilize a blend of therapeutic techniques to meet the needs of each individual. I am trained in EMDR and Motivational Interviewing, and work from an existential and social justice lens. I received a Masters degree in Community Counseling from Seattle University, and have worked in community mental health for the last eight years. In addition to working as a mental health and behavioral health clinician at Seattle Counseling Services and as an outreach specialist at DESC, I have experience working as a chemical dependency and substance abuse counselor in Boston, MA. I have experience working with diverse populations including the LGBTQIA+ community. I am passionate about advocating for and providing support to individuals looking for gender affirming care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
A saying that I hear often in sessions is “I’m so broken”, but my experience tells me that couldn’t be further from the truth. It is human nature to try to get our needs met and do the best we can in the moment. One of my favorite things to do with clients is to discover how we have learned certain behaviors, and recognize how they helped us. So often we are not reacting to things because we are broken, we are reacting because we are simply smart. Once we move to understanding, we can learn different ways of reacting that match our new settings and relationships. I would love to be your advocate and help you discover a kinder, gentler way to treat yourself.
