About My Clients
Do you go through life experiencing a relentless sense of urgency and hurry? Does it feel like there is always too much to do and you are letting people down by not meeting expectations? Does it feel like your family and friends have a tendency to leave you feeling bulldozed because you want to make everyone around you happy even if it is at the expense of yourself? My Background and Approach
I have worked as a therapist for six years. That may not seem like a long time, but it seems like I have always been the therapist in my life. Sometimes that showed up in my family, with my friends, at church. It felt awkward before I was trained, but now I am able to use the skills of listening, reflecting, and providing an empathetic space for the good of others. If you know what that feels like, you probably have struggled with setting boundaries, making space for yourself, or even knowing how to stand up for what you need in relationships. I have an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, which gives me the knowledge I need to help you sort through challenging family dynamics, relationship issues, and individual struggles such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I have a robust referral network if we need to include other people on your treatment team. I have experience sitting with and holding deep pain, joy, and increasing a better understanding of yourself and your place in life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of a strong and sturdy foundation that comes from building inner strength and resilience through processing and being aware of past and present emotional pain. Clients will hear me say frequently that the only way out is through. However, that is not a walk that needs to be done alone. As your therapist, I will hold your words and feelings with confidentiality and safety, without judgment, and with hope that there is always light on the other side of darkness. It would be my honor to participate in your healing, re-connection, reprocessing, and relearning who you are and who you choose to be. I am open to anyone who walks through my door. My mission is to ensure that my clients feel safe, heard, and respected when they sit with me through listening more than I speak, leaning in and remembering my clients' stories, and reminding my clients that I hold them in mind outside of our space together.
