About My Clients

You have many identities inside of you, as do your loved ones (and as do I), and therapy is about the mutual collaboration between those identities to come towards new behaviors, greater meaning, and crucial growth. Relationship and meaning are both the initiation, the core, the modality, and the result of therapy.

My Background and Approach

I have a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy as well as a Masters in Social Work, both from Syracuse University, and I am trained in a variety of systemic, trauma-informed, and experiential methods.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

There can be much misunderstanding about what therapy is, who it is for, and how it can help. Perhaps you have heard or thought some of the following: Therapy is when you're required to talk about your feelings and childhood to a complete stranger; Therapy is when you're hypnotized, or lay on a couch with no eye contact, or told you're doing everything wrong in front of your loved ones; Therapy is for "crazy people," "bad parents," or people "worse off" than you; Therapists are perfect people, or people who think they're perfect; Therapy is venting to a stranger you pay to be your friend; Therapy is too emotionally difficult, impossible even, and therefore not worth trying. Some of these may be true, for some therapists and for some clients. However, this is not the experience of therapy you will find at Harvest House or with me.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
