About My Clients
Do you find that your anxiety or depression gets in the way of your life? Is it hard to find a way through the dark days? I know how hard it is to get the support you need when you are struggling and most need it. Those moments can feel so vast and impossible to overcome, but you're not alone. A compassionate behavioral approach can help reduce mood-based thinking and behavior, and give you the tools to find your path and live a life worth living.
My Background and Approach
I am a trauma-informed therapist working with adults, teens, and couples. I practice using an eclectic approach combining gentle mind-body focusing, cognitive-behavioral, and client-centered techniques. I hold the perspective that therapeutic connection provides the healing power to approach some of life's biggest challenges. Adapting to change and loss is also a challenging part of life, and I use my experience in grief work to help clients struggling with life transitions and losses. I also specialize in expressive arts therapy, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, BPD, and trauma stewardship/vicarious trauma. As a neurodivergent individual, I strongly believe in being a neurodiversity affirming therapist, and constantly seek to educate myself on how to best support my clients who are neurodivergent.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer femme, I have personal and professional experience serving the LGBTQ* community. I have a strong foundation in culturally responsive counseling, and approach my work with humility and empathy. I attend regular consultation groups and educate myself on serving a diverse population as a white therapist. I speak Spanish and Portuguese and have experience working with immigrant adults and families as an immigration advocate and early start provider. I am able to provide mental health evaluations to support immigration cases, with years of experience.
