My Background and Approach
I am a mental health counselor, family therapist, and gender therapist. I primarily work with the LGBTAQQ community. I also have extensive experience with the following populations: ● People with disabilities ● Immigrants and refugees ● Those with intersectional identities ● Open relationships/poly ● Sex positive/kink I believe that a large part of wellness is having healthy, meaningful relationships, not just with others, but with ourselves. Change happens when we are honest with ourselves about what is missing in our lives, and what we need from ourselves and others. I am also trauma-informed, which means that I consider the aspects of personal and systemic trauma when working with my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
● Access to good, quality healthcare, including mental healthcare, is a fundamental human right. ● Those with privilege have a responsibility of challenging the dominant paradigm. ● Minority Stress is traumatic.
