About My Clients
So being a parent has turned out to be a lot harder than you anticipated. The delivery didn't go as planned, the baby isn't eating enough, and don't get me started on the journey that is breastfeeding. No matter where you turn, people have ideas on how you should do things differently. Everyone has opinions but at the end of the day, it's just you, your baby, and your thoughts of inadequacies in the middle of the night.
My Background and Approach
My name is Linda and I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over a decade. In addition to being the founder of Smart Talk, I am also an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University as well as part of the Superintendent Student Mental Health Professionals Advisory Committee for the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. I live with my husband and seven year old twins. Having adjusted to motherhood myself, I know how hard it can be. Motherhood often changes and so does our perspective of whom we want to be in that role. I use a collaborative, gentle, and humor filled approach in therapy. It is not my job to tell you how to be a mother. It is my job to support you in becoming the mother you want to be, validate your struggles, and support you in finding ways to solve common motherhood problems (e.g. breastfeeding, sleep training, etc...). Our sessions will be filled with care and you will find yourself laughing often.
