About My Clients

I see individuals and couples or groups. I specialize in ethical nonmonogamy and polyamorous relationships. Whether you are curious about opening your relationship or have already opened your relationship(s), I can help strengthen the bonds between you. I believe both monogamy and open relationships are valid choices and I’m here to help you find what’s right for you and your partner(s).

My Background and Approach

I received my MA in Communication in 2006. I am fascinated by the ways we humans connect with each other through communication. As a therapist, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy to help people get beneath the surface of recurring conflicts to solve the root issues. I also enjoy working with narrative therapy techniques. The stories we tell ourselves and others have the power to damage or strengthen how we feel about ourselves and the people in our lives. I am also a researcher at heart. My master's thesis is a qualitative study of a polycule, or network of polyamorous adults.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that the more information we have, the better decisions we make. Self-awareness and nuanced understandings of our relationships have boundless potential to improve and enhance our lives. I believe that EVERY human is deserving of love, respect, and the ability to live their lives as they see fit. I donate to Planned Parenthood on a monthly basis because I believe everyone has the right to make decisions about their body. I LOVE that PP offers truly nonjudgmental abortion services, transgender care, and education about human sexuality. I have volunteered for rabbit rescues for 20 years because they are the bestest, cutest bundles of fur (don't worry, I love other animals too). For me, research is activism. My Master's thesis is a study of a polycule. In gathering and telling their story, I am helping to promote the idea that nonmonogamous relationships are a valid, healthy choice.
