About My Clients
I decided to be a couple and family therapist because I know how hard relationships can be and that sometimes we need a little help. There is no shame in asking for help. We are all imperfect and are not born with a roadmap on how to navigate troubled relationships and family. I have advanced training in Couple and Family Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and have earned special certification in Play Therapy which is clinically proven to help children who are struggling.
My Background and Approach
Areas of specialty include: Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Parent/Child, Teens, Children (5+), Sand Tray, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Mindfulness and Somatic Work, Inner Child, Spiritual Exploration, Life Transitions, Existential Issues, Self-esteem and Self-worth, LGBTQ+, Trauma Informed, Intergenerational Trauma, Grief and Loss, Women’s Issues. I have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field and have worked in foster care, residential facilities, case management, substance abuse, supported women with trauma, and provided therapy to children with developmental delays. Currently, I volunteer with Hospice as working with the dying and their families is sacred work that I hope to one day incorporate into my practice as a therapist.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My perspective is that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. I believe all people have innate value and are worthy of love.
