About My Clients
I work with and welcome adolescents (12+) and adults of all ages to therapy; and over time developed an emphasis in working with queer-identified populations. I have a background in working with LGBTQIA+ issues, including gender identity, and enjoy helping folks within my own community. Working from a trauma-informed lens, I show up as a therapist using frameworks of disability justice, body liberation, anti-racism, and intersectional humanism.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, my main focus will always be helping you create meaningful and lasting change in your life, while feeling safe and supported through identity affirming care. With 5 years of experience, I have focused my skills within IFS (Internal Family Systems), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and Art Therapy. Healing happens through a collaborative relationship between us, with emphasis on your expertise and knowledge of your life. Putting you in the driver’s seat of what does and does not work for you in therapy means your feedback is both encouraged and integral to your success. We will work on compassionately acknowledging and understanding your lived experiences and inner processes in order to provide feelings of empowerment and safety in your present.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Just as your internal parts work as a system, no one exists in a vacuum. Unpacking how systemic oppression, societal expectations, and intersecting identities impact how you are perceived and treated when navigating the various systems in your daily life will be critical to the work we do together.
