About My Clients
My ideal client is.....Open minded, willing and desire to change. This is what it takes to achieve sobriety. Addiction Counseling is my second career having been a nurse for 30 years. That changed when my addiction negatively impacted my career. I made the decision to move on in my life and returned to school to obtain my Masters in Science in Addiction Counseling in order to give back to people in my same position.
My Background and Approach
I adopt a “meet people where they're at” approach. Whether you're committed to change or just beginning to question things, I'll strive to create a space where you can turn down the noise, tell your story, and reconnect with who and what is important to you. I take a person-centered approach with the understanding that your experiences make you the expert on yourself. I use a variety of treatment modalities including CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing in order to best assist my clients. I also have reasonable self-pay options. I have my Master's Degree in Addiction Counseling. licensed in the state of MA and certified as an Advanced practice addiction counselor in CA.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs are that recovery has to come first. I have a strong belief that everything happens for a reason and while we may not understand that at the moment, eventually we see why certain things happen in our lives. If you keep an open mind, doors will open for you that you never imagined. It is then our choice whether or not we walk through them.
