I have been utilizing EMDR since 2013 to help clients with PTSD. I work to not only decrease the distress, but also confront the negative beliefs around the trauma.
I have worked at multiple treatment centers in Orange County since 2013 in both group and individual settings. Addiction is the symptom, not the source. Yes, cliché, but true. I work to uncover the source of the pain. In addition, I work to enhance positive cognitions in each person.
Anxiety is always this future monster: "What if this happens? What if they don't like me? What if I fail?" I work with clients by teaching them coping skills on how to confront their negative thoughts as well as other anxiety reducing techniques. I educate client on how their eating habits could be making anxiety worse.
Challenge your thoughts, change your behavior. I look to see how your automatic negative thoughts are impacting your behaviors. I work to challenge them and then teach you how to challenge them.
I collaborate with the client to help work on their issue. It is short-term and a goal-oriented approach.
