The populations I can I do my best work with are patients that have experienced trauma and are in a space where they are motivated to see a way out, they just need a guiding hand. I can help a client start to thrive once again if they are motivated to take their life back. We will find a medication/therapy combination that works and get their life back on track. Life does not revolve around medication it needs a team of people willing to work.
My Background and Approach
I use a multi modal approach in the way that I provide medication management in psychiatry. I first begin by doing a Dynamicpsychosocial Evaluation of the patient so that I can get a holistic approach to the different corners of the person’s life along with a good picture Of how the mental illness impacts that picture in each sector of that person’s life. After the evaluation we go into detail about how med management would fit into this person‘s life. At this point in the conversation, the patient and I would be selecting a few medication’s and going through their side effect profile, and benefits of meds, to decide as a collective, the one we would like to try. The goal being try one for 2-4 weeks
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs about mental wellbeing as a WHOLE is that it is about the whole human. Not just about the brain or the body or the meds or just one thing. We must take care of the entire vehicle and what we put in the vehicle, how we talk to the vehicle, etc. That’s why when one part of us doesn’t work, we can instantly all fall apart.
