The sessions are tailored to fit the needs of each client. The approaches that we will use in our sessions might come from different orientations to better fit your needs. We might use narrative and psychodynamic therapy, explore mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), use elements of internal family systems (IFS) and Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT).

My experience, as a first generation immigrant from the former Soviet Union, helps me understand the struggles of adjusting to another culture. Our cultures help create our understanding of the world and shape our beliefs. In our sessions, we will reach into your cultural beliefs and incorporate parts of your culture that will help you succeed.

Together we can work to heal from trauma, whether it is something very raw and fresh or something that has been carefully covered. Traumatic experiences can impact your mood, behaviors, and relationships. The process of healing from trauma can be long but it is rewarding. We will talk time to get to know each other and develop trust before we start working on healing from trauma. We will talk about your feelings at each step of healing and adjust the pace to fit your comfort.

However, there are times when anxiety is ever present and all consuming. Sometimes it feels like any moment everything can go wrong, even when a person knows that it isn't likely to be that bad. Scary things happen to people. They leave behind the scars of the experience. However, sometimes these experiences are so intense that the scars never heal. it seems like obscure things can trigger a memory or a response that others don't understand. You have been through a lot already, you deserve to feel comfort and joy. It is possible for those scars to heal. We can process the trauma and, although the memories will remain, it is possible for you to take control of your life.
