My goal is to help you use your strengths to ascend to your highest potential.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Cape Coral, FL
I have worked in addiction services for a number of years, helping people develop and maintain long-term recovery, using group and individual counseling and supporting medication assisted recovery services.
My first foray into addiction counseling included training in Motivational Interviewing. Since that time, I have utilized that model to work with clients and found it to be exceedingly helpful with all types of clients. I have regularly engaged in workshops and training focused on Motivational Interviewing because of the success I have found in utilizing this approach.
I have been trained in CBT while in graduate school. Additionally, I was a field supervisor for interns who were enrolled in CBT courses. I have attended a number of relevant workshops to maintain my skill set and regularly access this model to work with my patients.
I have found it important to help folks understand that depression is real and valid. In my experience, patients have helped to heal when they begin to look at and attack the depressive symptoms head on and work to get in front of them. We have worked to understand the person's individual cycle and try to interrupt the downward spiral as much as possible.
I have provided support to people dealing with anxiety and panic issues. We've been able to reduce symptoms using various methods to uncover the source of anxiety and begin to address those issues.
I have worked in substance use treatment for a number of years. Services were provided in residential treatment, outpatient services and in opioid medication assisted treatment. My caseload has included adolescents, adults, court-ordered individuals, as well as conducting groups.
