About My Clients
I strive to make therapy a safe space for my clients to share, reflect, learn and challenge themselves so they are no longer stuck in patterns of self sabotage, negative thought spiraling, people pleasing or other limiting behaviors. Therapy is a team effort and we will work to meet your goals while increasing your overall confidence in yourself.
My Background and Approach
Throughout my 20+ year career I have treated clients in large urban & rural communities. I find that an Integrative Approach allows for the therapeutic process to be at its most genuine & adaptable. IA highlights the individual characteristics of the client, client motivation & the therapeutic relationship as key elements of therapeutic change. IA also pulls techniques from evidence based modalities including CBT and Solutions Focused. Some specialty areas addressed: mangaging anxiety, coping with change, setting realistic expectations of self & others, establishing healthy boundaries, disentangling from toxic situations/relationships, resolving feelings of shame & regret, challenging faulty thinking patterns, self-worth, coping skills, living with and managing grief & loss. My intention is to assist my clients in identifying which choices, thoughts & behaviors have served them well and which may need to be may reframed, redirected or just released.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing can occur in many ways with therapy being one of them. I believe in order to live our most fufulling lives we sometimes need perspective and a safe space to explore our unexamined, misunderstood or resistant parts of self. It is important we try our best, whatever that "best" may be at that time, to keep ourselves moving forward. Sometimes reaching out for help may be what is best. I am in sessions into the evening hours therefore emails in general may receive the quickest response.
