About My Clients
I support individuals who struggle with trauma to find peace and lead their lives free of the symptoms and emotional triggers that haunt them.
My Background and Approach
I know that seeking therapy can be an overwhelming process. I’ve been where you are now. I hope I can make it easier by telling you a little about me, and how I view my work as a therapist. I believe that our behaviors in the present are influenced by how we learned to react to events in our childhood. Emotional damage experienced as a child profoundly shapes our ability to interact with others in an emotionally mature fashion and it is our task to “grow ourselves back up.” I strongly believe that the biggest factor in positive growth and healing in therapy is a result of the relationship between the therapist and client. Change cannot happen if you do not trust your therapist or if you feel judged. I strive to make every session feel as safe as possible for you. I have hope for each of my clients and believe that you have the ability heal and to create the life you want for yourself. I would love to be able to help you do that.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Unresolved trauma has serious effects on mental and emotional health. You may feel distant or cut off. You may be anxious, or become flooded with emotions such as fear, anger or despair. You may feel like you don’t matter. Your relationships may be compromised or you may feel overwhelmed dealing with day to day issues. As s therapist, I have years of experience helping people with a history of childhood trauma find their way to wholeness. I offer a safe place to help you deal with the feelings and memories that you may be unable to handle by yourself, to gain perspective, and to find the healing tools that work best for you. Only you can decide how to move forward with your life and you are on the right track. You’re here.
